Dr. Kulp, medical director of Metropolitan Pediatrics, LLC, was raised
just outside San Francisco, California. He received his B.A. in behavioral sciences from the University
of Chicago after which he spent a year in Jerusalem volunteering at Alyn, an orthopedic hospital for handicapped children.
He returned to the University of Chicago to participate in laboratory research in the field of asthma from which he
published three scientific articles. He graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine
in 1995 and received his residency training in Pediatrics at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
He is board certified in Pediatrics.
His
special areas of interest include developmental/behavioral pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and infectious diseases, and medical
education for the patient and parent. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor in Pediatrics at Georgetown
University Hospital and enjoys teaching medical students and residents.
Dr. Kulp currently serves as Co-Chair of the Montgomery County School Health Council and is a Past President of the
Montgomery/Prince Georges County Pediatric Society for 2005-6. He was voted Best Pediatrician in Bethesda
Magazine, 2009 and was named to Washingtonian Magazine’s list of Top Doctors in 2002, 2005 and 2008 and is listed in
the Guide to America's Top Pediatricians for 2006 and 2008.
Dr. Kulp is married and has three children.
