Dr. Giorgio Kulp


Dr. Kulp, medical director and founder of Metropolitan Pediatrics, LLC (founded May, 2004), was raised just outside San Francisco, California. He received his B.A. in behavioral sciences from the University of Chicago after which he spent a year in Jerusalem volunteering at Alyn, an orthopedic hospital for handicapped children. He returned to the University of Chicago to participate in laboratory research in the field of asthma from which he published three scientific articles. He graduated from the George Washington University School of Medicine in 1995 and received his residency training in Pediatrics at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He is board certified in Pediatrics.

His special areas of interest include developmental/behavioral pediatrics, pediatric cardiology and infectious diseases, and medical education for the patient and parent. He previously held an Assistant Clinical Professorship in Pediatrics at Georgetown University Hospital and has enjoyed teaching medical students and residents over the years.


Dr. Kulp served as Co-Chair of the Montgomery County School Health Council for 4 years and is a Past President of the Montgomery/Prince Georges County Pediatric Society for 2005-6. He is currently on the medical advisory board of Treatment and Learning Centers. He was voted Best Pediatrician in Bethesda Magazine, 2009 and was named to Washingtonian Magazine’s list of Top Doctors starting in 2002 and in every edition since. He is listed in the Guide to America's Top Pediatricians in 2006 and 2008. He was selected as a 2017 Top Pediatrician in Rockville by the International Association of Pediatricians.


Dr. Kulp is married and has three children. He also has a dog named Pax who brings "peace" to the family. He is an avid singer and can often be heard humming a tune as he walks into our exam rooms.
