Dr. Steve Silvestro
Dr. Silvestro strives to alleviate some of the worries and anxieties that go along with modern parenting by giving parents the tools they need to raise happy, healthy, confident kids.
That's what he aims to do during office visits, while also making them a fun experience for kids. It's also the goal of his podcast, The Child Repair Guide, in which he brings the wisdom of the best experts in child health and wellness directly to parents in each episode. And it's the purpose of his Mindfulness for Parents Online Course--giving parents tools to better care for themselves so that they can best care for their kids.
Dr. Silvestro trained at Georgetown University School of Medicine, and completed his residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He has spent time working with Patch Adams; has been listed as a Washingtonian Magazine Top Doctor, Washington Parent Magazine Favorite Doc, and New & Noteworthy on iTunes; and has been featured in the Washington Post, Bethesda Magazine, The Huffington Post, Thrive Global, Psychology Today, and other media outlets.
In addition to his practice at Metropolitan Pediatrics and his podcast work, Dr. Silvestro is a bone marrow harvesting physician at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital; has taught mindfulness courses for medical students, undergraduates, and parents in the community; and coaches youth soccer.
His most important job, however, is enjoying adventures with his family and raising his own two kids to be compassionate, creative, and to dream big.
