Ari Yares, PhD
Originally from Guatemala, Claudia has lived in Maryland since she was 12 years old. She came to Metropolitan Pediatrics three years ago after working as office manager, medical assistant and "Jack of all trades" at another local medical practice. Claudia's two daughters, a college sophomore and a five year old, occupy most of her free time, but she can always find time to enjoy the company of her local large happy family!
Practice Manager and Billing Specialist
Born and raised in Cabin John, Maryland, Stephanie moved to Gaithersburg where she has been living the last 7 years. She grew up traveling up and down the East Coast, playing soccer and basketball. She started babysitting when she was 13 years old and has had a passion for kids ever since. That passion brought her to Metropolitan Pediatrics in 2010. She has a dog, Daisy, that she considers her child (for now) and looks forward to raising her own kids in the future. Some of her interests/hobbies include hiking, biking, kayaking and "most" sports.
Front Office Manager
John, also know as "The Vaccinator" or "Shot Ninja" is our senior medical assistant, born in Chicago (yes, he is a Bears fan) and now lives in Bethesda with his lovely wife a two rambunctious boys. He has been with Metropolitan Pediatrics since 2010. He loves Florida State University and in his free time enjoys getting out on his motorcycle (he doesn't publicize that with our patients obviously!).
Joanie is always happy to greet patients and parents when they arrive at the office! She has been a staple in our front office for nine years, since 2008. When not answering phones and greeting families, she loves to spend time with her three grandchildren, either in Maryland or at their homes in North Carolina. Joanie is originally from Pennsylvania, but has lived all over the country while her husband, Joe, was in the Marines.
